a day of play

Mom was home from work today, so we played all day (when we weren’t whining and in time out).

Our good friends Tammie and Korbin even came over to play.  How fun.  (Please excuse the exposure and colors, I was playing with the white balance on my camera).

Hank enjoyed his first oreo today (golden oreo – that’s my favorite, so that’s what he gets)

mr baby

What’s Mr. Hank been up to lately?  Well, he is growing everyday!

IMG_7049

My baby Hank now weighs about 18 pounds.  Almost 10 times the size he was when he was born.

Little Mr. can almost sit up completely by himself now.  He is working on saying his consonant sounds, and is constantly babbling and yelling for attention.  He loves, loves his Grandma Suzie and gets so excited when she comes over.  He is starting to like different textures in his food, and he especially loves yogurt.  He wants to do everything and gets super bored when he is left alone to play.  Maybe that’s good motivation to get him moving, which he’s trying to do.

He still goes to bed at 6 every night and sleeps until around 5am.  We get pretty good sleep, minus the nights that he pulls his oxygen off and the pulse-ox alarm goes off every 20 minutes.

I am trying to teach him to say mama, which he doesn’t still, but gives me a huge grin every time we practice.  He still has no teeth, but seems to always be teething and drooling.

No more medications for Mr. Hank (if you don’t count the oxygen).  He gets a special shot to prevent RSV once a month (Synagis), which seems to be helping so far (knock on wood).  His next appointment with the pulmonologist, we will try a room air trial to see how he does (good thing that’s not till the beginning of June).

We can’t believe how far this little baby has come.  Such a fun little boy.  We are lucky.

vocabulary

Don’t two year olds say the funniest things?!  Some of my favorites. . .

  • muffets (when referring to “the muppets”)
  • iPuter (computer)
  • doll fish (dolphin)
  • make ups (hiccups)
  • eye browns (eye brows)
  • I have a sword (I have a sore)
  • It’s humfy (it’s comfy)
  • giant coke (Diet Coke)
  • yucky charms (Lucky Charms)

When confused or working on something complicated he often states “it’s tricky”

Every day after I get him dressed, I ask him to stand where I can see him.  He then states, “I look handsome”, to which I reply, “yes, you look handsome”, and he says “oh, thank you.'’

While at the Aggie basketball games, when the students start chanting the “I believe” chant, he always chimes in, right in rhythm, “I bring the wiggle win.”

The other day, he turned on the fireplace (I never turn it on), and it left a bit of a burning smell in the house.  He informed me, “There’s fire in my nose”, and to “get it out.”

Today, when his baby brother Hank was crying and upset, he said while referring to Hank, “he hurt his feelings.”  I affirmed this was true and he wanted “to kiss Hank’s feelings” to make him all better.
