st.nick
Our annual visit to SC at the Budge Clinic Christmas Party.
The anticipation. Drew said he was afraid to talk to Santa because he worried Santa would tell him that he was getting coal for christmas.
Poor Hank. So worried.
As Drew would, he talked his ear off. He told Santa he wanted a marble toy this year.
Quite pleased with the results.
Hank struggled, so did Santa.
Hank didn’t want one finger on him.
Dad tried to help.
Per tradition.

2 weeks after
How is Hank doing 2 weeks post-op?
He.is.amazing!
We went to his post-op appointment at Primary’s today and he had the all clear. Everything looks great. The surgeon stopped his lasix (diuretic) and he is now back to his baseline of no medications. All his steri-strips and stitches were removed and his zipper looks amazing. It still has a little healing to do, but it definitely looks better than his original scar. His pacemaker scar is also healing nicely and looks great.
As far as his lung/oxygen status, we are thinking he is in the clear. He has been off, I mean none, nada, no oxygen for 2 weeks now and has been having amazing oxygen levels (I’m talking +97%). This is unbelievable to us as he has been on oxygen (1-2 liters) since birth. We could not be happier about that, and it is so obvious that he is just elated and flourishing. What a blessing.
Oh, and remember this? It’s Hank’s quilt block made in his honor to spread awareness about Congenital Heart Defects (CHD).
The Energizer Bunny is a theme because I told the organization that it was his nickname while in the hospital because his little life was so reliant on the battery that ran his pacemaker (it still is). CCHB stands for complete congenital heart block.
Anyway, his block has finally found a home with many other kid’s blocks and will be displayed around the country to raise awareness! Isn’t is beautiful?
Can you spy Hank’s block?
Thanks again for all the prayers, fasts, love, and thoughts in Hank’s honor. They were appreciated and kept us all going!
