Read about another baby like Henry here.
Just a little boost for my day. Thought I would share.
Around here, no news is good news.
I really haven’t picked up my camera too much to take pictures of Drew because frankly, he doesn’t let me. Once the camera is out, it is “mine”, or his, that is. Not a fun fight. But here are a few shots of Drew mainly from our phones.
This is Drew during one of mom’s “lazy” mornings. Sometimes I just can’t drag myself out of bed before Steve leaves for school and the iPad becomes our best pal. Bad mom award, I know.
Grandpa and Drew at an Aggie game.
Baths are still fun.
Riding in the car with Matt at Grandma’s and Grandpa’s.
A day warm enough for a short wagon ride around the neighborhood.
Henry is still doing okay. Over the last few weeks, we have watched his heart rate get slower and slower, until we reached about 50 or so (normal babies should be between 110 to 160). So, I got to start a new medication to try and keep his heart rate up. And it has. For now. So, we are now floating in the upper 50’s range instead of the lower, which is good. Hopefully we can stick there.
(This is just a tracing of Henry’s heart. The big round section on the right side is his abdomen).
So far, his growth is good and he is measuring right where he should be at 24 weeks. He also doesn’t act too bothered by what his heart is doing now, and is showing no bad signs yet. He’s a fighter.
In the horizon: a trip to Madison, Wisconsin to have an “EKG” done on Henry. It’s the only place in the country that does this type of testing on fetuses and they want us to come, so we are on our way!
I’m not really big on naming my unborn children while they are still in the womb, but Henry is special.
Henry Joseph
I will try not to post too many of these lovely ultrasound pictures, but when you get them weekly (or more), it’s a little tempting.
We have been working on teaching Drew to say brother Hank and he does okay, but really he has no clue. We really have a long ways to go, lets hope we make it!
Meet baby boy #2. Due end of May, which puts me about 21 weeks (almost), but who’s counting?
We had a few surprises with this new baby. He sure is an active little boy which we found at his 20 week ultrasound last week. We also found that he has a heart conduction problem, meaning his heart doesn’t beat quite the way it should.
After Mom got to spend 4 days at University Hospital to convert his heart to a better rhythm, we are finally home and stable for now. Timing couldn’t have better for baby boy seeing how we seemed to have caught the problem just in time.
Little Mr. will get lots of attention over the next couple months and we will see where it takes us. What a trip.
Drew woke up Christmas and was excited to see his car, and that’s it. He didn’t want to open presents, so I really didn’t take too many pictures.
He did have a good day, playing with cousins and having lots of treats.
