last big trip

We took our last big trip to Montana last week.  I guess the summer season is almost over.

We started out taking a day trip to Virginia City.  We had fun exploring the old buildings, looking for garnets at Ruby Reservoir and riding the train to Nevada City.

After that, we did some playing at the cabin with cousins.

The saga of the cowboy boots.  First, we bought the boots, then we played in the boots.  Last, we took a bike ride in the boots, where the boots and the little boy foot got stuck in the spokes of the bike tire.  The foot survived, the boots didn’t.

Needless to say, we had to buy another pair of boots.

Then we took a trip to Jackson to visit our buddies, the Darnells.  We haven’t been to Jackson in a long time and it was fun.  Mary and the girls definitely showed us a good time!

Back to the cabin after that where we enjoyed the dirt, dole whips at the Playmill Theatre, mining for gold up the creek, the sand box, and friends!

crafts

I never thought I was a crafty person, but I wanted to be.  Since we’ve been traveling to Montana so much, I’ve had extra time to do some knitting and catch up on some projects.  Here they are.

montana again

Another trip to the cabin.  This time, I left my camera home and used only my phone.

Hunting for frogs with Jayda and Brady.  We found 2 large frogs and a toad.  We also had fun wading in the creek.  Just like old times!

Quake Lake redid their visitor center last year so we took a visit over there.  So fun.  We hiked up to the boulder and read the plaque of all the people that died there.  Such a beautiful place.

Look at this old picture of Grandma Mary that is hanging on the wall of her cabin.  Really, I still think my baby Hank looks just like her!

end of july

Here are some pictures that represent our July.  It’s been a busy one!

Drew’s candy from the Parade on the 24th of July.  Thank Hank for all the “sympathy throws”

Finally made Drew the knit turtle I promised him.

Hank’s new oxygen hat.  It holds the cannula on with ribbons rather than putting stickers on his face.    It’s been a nice break for him.  (www.o2kidlids.com)
