$1.31

Big surprise, Drew was pretty naughty today.  Actually not too much of a surprise really.  That stinker got into his piggy bank and decided to eat his money.  Nobody really knew though, until he had a bit of an upchuck.  $1.31 worth of an upchuck (5 quarters + 1 nickel + 1 penny).  So, since they money came back up, the pediatrician said he had to come in.  Drew loved every second of it.  Go figure.  He had his first x-ray and lucky for us, all the money came up, none left inside.  Really, I’m not quite sure if the coins went all the way down, but far enough to scratch up his tonsils a bit.

He was plugging his ears just in case.

He even got to look at his own x-ray.  He asked the doctor “what happened to me?” when he saw his film.

Life Lesson:  if you eat coins, you get lots of attention from the doctor, x-ray tech, and mom.  Plus lunch from chick fil a.

Lesson learned.

the other

What about Drew?  I’m glad to report that he is pretty much potty trained now.  Woohoo!  But, I’m sad to report that he has clogged my toilet 3 times in the last 8 days (sorry if that’s tmi), guess that’s what I get with a house full of boys.  For his toilet training reward, we made the mistake of getting him diecast cars.  These aren’t just any cars though, they are from the Disney Cars movies.  Needless to say, it has turned into an obsession for all in the household.  We have way too many, but they are loved.  Drew can name at least 75% of the cars names, not a huge surprise for Drew though, I wish I could remember things the way he does.

big

Hank has had a lot of milestones met lately.  He has started crawling everywhere.  He is really good at it.  We never loose him in the house though because he always leaves a trail of oxygen tubing wherever he goes.  Lucky for us.  His crawling has caused a little trouble with Drew, so I see a lot more hoarding of toys by the older child.  How fun.  He is also learning to pull himself to standing, and does it on anything he can.  What a strong little boy.

makeover

I decided it was time to re-do our (my) blog, to fit our family a bit more.  We have really had a lot of big changes over the last year or so, and since the blog really is about our family, I thought it could use some changes too!  Hope you enjoy the new layout.  Any suggestions or feedback are welcome.

29

He did it.  Drew had his first real teeth cleaning at the dentist, and he did so great.  Not a whine or cry out of him.  We had two appointments with Dr. Binns (he has been my dentist my whole life) before the official teeth cleaning.  First to watch Daddy and see the chair.  The next to see the cool tools and practice sitting in the chair.  So here he is.

He climbed right into the chair all himself.

He kept his eye on them though.

They cleaned his teeth, used the water and the water sucker thing, and even flossed.  So proud of Drew.

When he was done, he got to pick a prize from the treasure chest and got a brand new toothbrush.  When he got home from work, his Daddy asked him what he did at the dentist.  He said they counted his teeth and he had 29.

a few extras

Here are some instragram stuff I thought I wanted to keep track of.  Enjoy.

I’m a bit ashamed of this one.  Bad mom, I know.

drewyoutube

Don’t worry, since then, I have put a filter on youtube and Drew doesn’t get to watch as much “random” stuff.

Hank has started watching some shows on TV.  He really enjoys Baby Einstein right now, his favorite is Baby’s First Moves.  So cute to watch him watch.   (love all his hair)

We have finally started to venture out of the house.  Hank loves it (mom does too).  Here he is on his first trip to WalMart.  I’m sure this was a personal goal of his.

throw back

Remember him?

IMG_9128

We haven’t forgotten about him.  I used to take Hank’s picture with his monkey every week  when he lived in the NICU.    I’m glad I don’t feel like I have to do that anymore.

Haven’t we come a long way??

 IMG_8979

From a measly 2 pounds 9 ounces to a 20 pound baby!  Woohoo.  Not only has little Hank grown a ton, but he is actually on the growth chart for his chronological age (not just adjusted).  It may be only a 4% for weight and 8% for height, but hey, he still made it.

Guess what else?  He finally can crawl!  Yay, except he’s too lazy to do it, unless it involves Mom’s phone.  Then it’s definitely worth it.

obsession

Drew loves loves loves his cars.

We had a chance this week to go meet our friends at a local farm.  They put on an event every year called Baby Animal Days.  This year we met up with our friends from the neighborhood.  Though the weather wasn’t the best, it was still nice to get out.  Hank even got to make the trip.

IMG_8763

Drew did a great job holding the ducklings and chicks.  With help, the little animals survived.  He wasn’t scared at all, which really surprised me.

IMG_8773

Hank was prepared for the rain.  He loved getting out and seeing things.  He really hasn’t been anywhere, just home and the hospital.

IMG_8781IMG_8794

The weather was definitely do-able.  There were some sprinkles and wind, but overall not too bad.  It was muddy though.  Not my favorite.  Luckily, we came prepared.

easter time

We celebrated Easter this last weekend.  We decorated eggs on Friday, had an egg hunt on Saturday, and had a visit from the Easter bunny on Sunday.  It was fun having Hank home for his 2nd Easter (last year, we celebrated at the hospital).

Egg decorating was much more successful this year than last.

The egg hunt was at the Country Club.  It was a really nice day, and both kids had so much fun.  Hank hasn’t had much of a chance to get out lately, so it was especially nice for him.
