Our Schedule

I feel like we have finally got in back of the swing of things.  It took some time after the holiday to get it back together, but I think we have done it!

Monday is our quiet day.  It follows our quiet Sunday, so minus work, that’s our weekend.

Hank has so many days of preschool.  He goes to a regular preschool at the university three times a week.  Then, twice a week he goes to a transition preschool after his regular preschool.  He also has a therapy preschool that he does twice per month.  On top of that, he has 3-4 different therapists visit him at home and random Dr. appointments here and there.  He is such a great sport and has been doing so well.  We have seen so much progress lately.  Some of the things Hank has started doing in the last few weeks.

  • Does hand actions to 3 different songs, Ram Sam Sam, Wheels on the Bus, and Itsy Bitsy Spider
  • Communicates to us when he is “all done” by putting his arms in the air and moving them up and down
  • Imitating animal sounds.  He does kitty, dog, rooster, bear, and cow.
  • Follows dances along with the Wiggles and Mom and Dad
  • Pushes cars along the floor instead of just watching the wheels spin
  • Waves bye bye consistently at appropriate times
  • Started saying “ya yee” when Daddy comes home.

Seriously, I don’t think I could be more proud of him.  Such a strong kid!

Health wise he is so great and just had his first transmission with his new pacemaker.  His leads are in great working condition and right now, he is estimated with 5.5 years left on his new generator.  Hopefully as he grows and tolerates a lower heart rate, his generator (battery) life with increase.

Oh and the oxygen is gone for good!   We dropped of the last of our supplies to home care this week.  No offense to them, but I really don’t want to see them ever again.

Our church is at 1pm now, which is terrible.  It’s right during Hank’s nap time, so either Steve or I have to stay home with Hank and the other takes Drew.  This text came from Steve one day during sacrament meeting time.

Drew has preschool most days of the week, plus tennis twice a week.  He was so happy to get back to preschool and his friends.

Lately, it seems his busy day is Saturday.  It starts with bowling league on Saturday mornings, which has been amazing.

At bowling, he gets to play with other kids his age and practice two games.  He works on taking turns and cheering on other kids when it is their turn to bowl.  He has improved his game (yes he uses bumpers, but that’s all) and has had a high game of 88 (I think).  He has also earned two patches, one for a game above 75, and one for a series (2 games) to total 150.

Saturday afternoons have been spent at Beaver Mountain for ski school.  He will only do that this month, then spend the rest of the winter practicing.  He has enjoyed it a lot and has done a great job.  Steve finally has a ski partner (It’s too cold for me).

The rest of the time is play.  Don’t worry, we have plenty of time for that.
