boys

Drew and Hank have sure kept us busy around here.  It’s fun having two boys and watching them change and grow up.

Hank has been practicing sitting up in his bouncer and his high chair.  He’s getting so strong.  He has also finally decided to give us a real belly laugh.

busy busy busy

I feel like we have been so busy lately.  It seems like I can hardly keep up with anything anymore.  Apparently though I haven’t been too busy to to take way too many pictures of my kids.

Hank has been doing really well.  He has started really showing us his personality.  He loves loves his bottles and will let us know if we are too slow getting him what he needs.  He even holds it himself sometimes!

We also tried him out on cereal.  Not really his favorite thing.  We are taking it slow and haven’t really pushed it too much.  Maybe when there is a bit more time.

(First time eating cereal.  Sorry about the disgusting picture)

We did have a little stint in the hospital in Logan a few days ago.  He really wasn’t too sick but I think the doctors are a bit nervous about him.  We only stayed overnight, then came home.  We went in because one morning I had to keep turning his oxygen flow up because he was dipping low on his oxygen saturation.  I had to more than double his usual flow and still couldn’t get him where he should have been.  He didn’t act too bothered though.  What a good sport.  He never even acted sick.

What a cute little baby in a cute little hospital gown.

We also went and celebrated Emily’s birthday.  We had such a fun time and she is such a good girl and so sweet to both of my boys.  What good cousins we have!

Hank has really turned into a little monkey and hangs on to everything he can get his hands on.  Today, I found him hanging on for dear life to his swing bars.  Not really sure why, but he hung on for 10 minutes.  Funny baby.

falling into fall

Fall is my favorite time of year!  Time has gone so fast though, I can’t believe it’s fall already.

My dogs love this time of year too!

(Please ignore the horrible weeds in the background, our yard got neglected this summer)

Okay, you guys have heard of katydids right?  Well, I never saw one until last week when there was a really green “leaf” in the middle of all our dead weeds in our yard.  Since then, we have seen more in our yard.  Strange creature.    Can you see it?

The boys are doing pretty good.

brothers

Drew is having a lot of fun in his school twice a week.  Today before school,  he told me that his brother Hank’s nose (I think he was talking about his cannula) was “awesome” and that “Hank is a robot”.  So funny, since Hank really is kind of  a robot.

He’s still been getting into lots of trouble.  He really wants to play in water and the toilet lately, but still doesn’t act like he’s ready to be potty trained.  Maybe soon?!

Hank has been doing awesome.  He is really growing a lot and starting to wake up and be his own little personality (not that he wasn’t before).

He had his appointment with the eye doctor and the pulmonologist about a week ago down in Salt Lake.  His eyes are good so we don’t have to go back there, which is awesome.  The pulmonologist said he was doing really well.  He reminded me that the oxygen wasn’t the enemy and to give Hank time to wean.  It was a good reminder that his oxygen doesn’t define him, though it seems to sometimes (or at least rule his life).  He said his lungs looked better than the last x-ray and reminded us about the upcoming RSV season and to keep Hank home most of the time.  Ok, I guess.

Hank is growing up fast.  He is 6 months now (really like 3&1/2 or 4) and is growing really well.  He fits right in on the graph for 4 months old as far as his stats go (he weighs over 13 pounds), but falls off the graph for a 6 month old (but just barely).  I think he will catch up eventually.

We did take him out to the Aggie game the other day!  He had a fun time and was a champ.  We had no problems at all and it made me feel better about taking him around a bit more.

Speaking of Utah State, they play BYU this weekend.  I think we have a chance!  Go Aggies!

hidden camera

Watch this video I took of Drew when he thought I wasn’t watching (it was after he demanded “Mama go cook”, meaning leave me alone Mama).  There is some excess video on the end that is boring, so ignore that part.  As my sister Lori says, Drew gets attached to the funniest songs.

lately

It’s been pretty busy around here.  I went back to work full time last week, which I think has been really good for me.  We don’t get out too much, but it still feels like we are super busy.

Drew is up to his normal behavior.

Sleeping in the hall.

He also started school again at Utah State.  He gets to go twice a week for two hours each class.  It’s been really good for him and he seems to enjoy it quite a bit.

Hank has been doing the normal baby stuff.  (and some extras).

Has been smiling a lot more (especially at Mama and Daddy)

He is only on one medication now and we are starting to get used to the oxygen, though I really don’t like it.  He meets with his pulmonologist and eye doctor this week, fun times.

We have a lot of visits from our cousins, which we love.

We have finally mastered the double stroller method and seems to work really well for our boys.

We also got to go see great friend (and one of Hank’s nurses) finish the Top of Utah Marathon.  We were excited for Lisa and so happy to see her.

Back to our normal routine, and we are happy about it.
